A Lady of quality and influence, highly skilled with the needle and knowledgeable in the vagaries of fashion (both Martial and Civil) is willing, for a fair consideration, to outfit both Military Gentlemen and their Ladies, likewise their families and establishments, to the highest of standards.
All work will be undertaken to your particular requirements, either using your own
research, or the Lady’s own extensive knowledge. Should further research be required this can be undertaken by the Lady herself or
by a learned Gentleman of her acquaintance. The extent of such work required will be reflected in the Lady’s fee.
Commissions undertaken will be to a standard required by the client. As a guide work undertaken to the highest of historical
standards, using the techniques that were available at the time, giving a museum quality item, will be the most costly. Items that
will stand very close scrutiny, yet still use some more modern techniques for structural work that cannot be seen will be somewhat
less costly, and items best seen from a little distance, as from a stage, will be less costly again. All such detail will be confirmed
with the client before any work is begun.
To secure the commencement of work a payment will be required equal to 80% of
the total price (or, where items are NOT made to measure, the expected cost of materials plus 10%). The balance of the agreed
price will be required on delivery. A discount may be offered when payment is made in full before work is commenced. All materials
and finished items remain the property of The Captain’s Mistress until final payment has been received in full.
