Sara has spent a lifetime working on Bridal and Ball gowns. Since becoming involved with re-enactment in 2001 her skills have
been directed increasingly to historic costume.
Her work is known to many in the UK, Europe, and now in Canada, and she
enjoys a well deserved reputation for quality.
Sara will happily make museum quality garments, completely hand stitched and with historical levels of finish. However her main focus
is on high quality garments suitable for reenactors and film, theatre and TV use, in which structural work is machined where
not visible, with hand finished work where it will be seen. The internal finish is also to a higher standard than would often
have been the case historically, so as to give a garment that will wear well in these environments and give many years service.
Combining her wedding and ball gown experience with her historical expertise Sara is ideally suited to costuming for themed weddings,
balls, parties or other costumed events. Her main expertise is in the Regency or Empire period, but she is also interested
in the 18th Century and would be happy to work in any other historical period, either working with clients own research or carrying
out research to a client's brief.
Where research is required Sara is assisted by her partner, Geoff, who has a long history in re-enactment and the Military, as well
as a degree level education in History.
